We Are Sectigo | Jesse Diaz
What do snowboarding and sales have in common? For Jesse Diaz, they both provide an opportunity to stay active, compete, and be social.
After graduating from Montclair State University in 2017, Jesse entered the professional world as a member of the Sectigo sales team. He quickly found his footing, working on expanding accounts, improving relationships, and establishing trust with existing customers. Between his time in sales at Sectigo and his years perfecting his skills on the slopes, Jesse had gained a sense of adventure and adaptability that came in handy when the company began its transition to the Sectigo brand in 2018.
As an Enterprise PKI sales professional, Jesse provides mid-market companies with innovative digital identity solutions, including TLS/SSL certificates, DevOps, IoT, and enterprise-grade PKI management—both in the U.S. and internationally—and boasts accounts in Australia, South America, and Africa. Although Jesse has worked in sales, he prefers to think of himself as a trusted advisor rather than a “salesman.” He prides himself on helping enterprises reduce risk, save time, and save money so they can focus on their core business.
“We’re here to help provide value, not just try to sell things. Everyone needs security, but too often we see companies wait until a costly breach occurs before they consider their cybersecurity options more seriously. My goal is to help people think more proactively when it comes to security. I want my customers to be in the best position they can be to handle any threat that might plague their organization in the future.”
Sectigo’s Collaborative Environment Starts at the Top
In Sectigo’s Roseland, NJ headquarters, the sales team sits together as part of an open floor plan. Jesse thrives in the collaborative environment and enjoys the sense of hustle and energy being in the presence of his coworkers. The synergy within the company has allowed Jesse and his colleagues to develop strong bonds, which in turn helps generate continued success for Sectigo.
“I didn’t want to walk into the office every day wearing an uncomfortable suit and work on spreadsheets in isolation,” explains Jesse. “Every Sunday, I look forward to starting a new week. I truly admire the people that I work with, as they inspire each other to be better every day.”
Whether it’s a friendly competition to close deals or a quick chat over snacks in the kitchen, the collaborative culture at Sectigo is ever-present. Openness is a characteristic that flows through every single member of the team, starting at the top with the CEO, Bill Holtz. He is no stranger to his employees, and regularly takes teams out to dinners for an informal opportunity to get to know everybody.
“The recognition we receive from leadership and the open-door policy with executives sets Sectigo apart from many other companies,” says Jesse. “When I first entered the corporate world out of college, having open access to executives to learn and develop new skills was, and still is, one of the most rewarding experiences, and continues to motivate me today to achieve results.”
A Company with a Clear Vision for the Future
Having been with the company for three years, Jesse has been through both a carve-out and a rebrand. He understands that Sectigo’s story has been one of constant evolution and improvement. As he looks forward to his future at Sectigo, Jesse envisions facing new challenges and fostering continued growth in new markets. He notes that Sectigo is always ahead of the trends, predicting and developing innovative new solutions for the future.
“While it is important that Sectigo grows independent of its past identity, this history is crucial to building client trust,” he says. “In life, you wouldn’t immediately trust someone you don’t know or recognize. The same thing goes for the security industry. Our team continues to work hard to build trust in the Sectigo name.”
