Comodo CA Is Now Sectigo
I am pleased to announce that Comodo CA has officially changed its name to Sectigo. This name change communicates that Sectigo is a separate operating entity, and since its separation from its predecessor Comodo Group in 2017, will be an essential element of ensuring that both companies can continue to conduct business without market confusion.
I am pleased to announce that Comodo CA has officially changed its name to Sectigo. Sectigo launches as the world’s largest commercial Certificate Authority and a global leader in web security solutions. For two decades, we have provided digital identity solutions to both enterprises and small businesses to protect their employees, customers, intellectual property, and brands from online threats. We have issued more than 100 million SSL certificates across 200 countries — and will continue to deliver the technical expertise and experience necessary to meet the growing needs of securing today’s digital landscape.
Although we are leaving the Comodo CA name behind, we are retaining and enhancing the experience, expertise, and reputation for excellence that we have earned throughout our 20 years in this industry. Our new name accompanies a new brand identity, along with an expanded mandate for the business. As Sectigo, we will grow our web security portfolio and deliver innovative solutions that challenge security norms while continuing to focus, improve, and build our core TLS / SSL digital certificate business and customer experience.
The rebrand comes at an exciting time for us and coincides with the one-year anniversary of our acquisition. Since Francisco Partners acquired Comodo CA in October 2017 as a high-growth investment, we have continued to build a reputation as one of the most trusted names in web security solutions — and as a company dedicated to innovation and expansion.
During the past 12 months, we’ve made many strategic moves to support this expansion. Our acquisition of CodeGuard, Inc. in August brought the resources of a global leader in website maintenance, backup, and disaster recovery into the fold. CodeGuard has maintained its brand and now expanded into six new locations in EMEA and APAC to meet international demand, further broadening the scope of our offerings. In addition, the IoT device security platform we launched in June offers customers protection against cyber attacks for devices and networks across a range of industries including industrial automation, medical devices, consumer electronics, and more.
New services require new talent, and Sectigo surpassed 200 employees worldwide this year — a 17 percent increase in headcount across offices globally. These new hires include veteran executives who bring with them more than 100 years of collective industry experience. We have also opened a new world headquarters in Roseland, NJ, and a new, development center in Ottawa, Canada. In the UK, we have doubled our staff. Everywhere you look, Sectigo is growing and thriving.
Our rapid growth further elevates us across the web security landscape as we continue to establish global industry memberships to advance industry standards. Now a member of WiMAX Forum, GSMA, Zigbee, OCF, and Joint Venture - Silicon Valley, Sectigo is helping shape the future of our key industries.
We are proud to introduce our new brand, Sectigo, which sets the path for us to continue breaking new ground in the web security space. Thank you for your past support! We look forward to continuing to work with you to build a more secure world for businesses and consumers alike.
